My inspiration to teach yoga grew from my interests to incorporate it with other healing arts, through both psycho- and physical therapies. As a means to provide longevity to joint and muscle health, My style of yoga has evolved from the influence/collaboration of Iyengar, Yin Yoga and Forrest Yoga, so there is usage of props, and the poses are held for lengthier amounts of time. Although the practice may seem more passive than a lot of other asana practices, I find it very suitable for athletes, people with injuries, and Alaskans in general who endure long periods of cold which creates stiffness in so many of us.
Through practicing and teaching yoga I hope to cleanse the body of impurities and stagnation which will thus cleanse the mind of the same, and vice versa. In the end I love yoga, and want to help more more people to practice.
