Melanie Jacob CYT

Melanie's first exposure to yoga was a Bikram yoga class in Seattle in 1996 with teacher Marta McDermott.  Having many preconceived notions of what yoga was about, she attended  the class only because her friends dared her. Melanie was blown away by the class - it did not match any of her preconceived ideas, it was more challenging than she ever imagined, and she discovered her body was stiff, inflexible and not as strong as she thought.  Since then Melanie's practiced yoga wherever she goes, including 4-month stints working on ships at far corners of the globe.  Her practice grew to include Ashtanga, vinyasa and other forms of yoga,  but she’s always found her yoga “home base” to be in a heated  room.   In addition to her many years of practice Melanie has trained with both Rick Resnick and Katey Inman and completed her 200- hour RYT in 2010.  Melanie intends to practice yoga in her 80s, into her 90s if she’s lucky and well past 100 if she’s even luckier.
