My yoga practice began in 2003, when I first moved to Alaska to finish college.  I was hooked after my very first class. Yoga fascinated me – I had never moved my body in such a strong, controlled way or felt my mind so at peace.  But it also challenged me- running, climbing, skiing, backpacking and paddling made me stiff and tight and relatively inflexible.  Yoga improved not only my physical body, but every aspect of my life, for the better, and I feel so honored that I am able to share this passion with others.  I’ve been a student of Katey’s since 2006 and recently graduated from Anchorage Yoga’s 200 Hour Teacher Training.  I absolutely love teaching vinyasa, or “flow” classes and truly believe that a heated room can transform your yoga practice.
